On April 19, the amended Regulations to the Law for the Promotion of Competition and Effective Defense of the Consumer (Law 742) went into effect, of which a significant reform consists of the obligation of all businesses offering products or services to consumers to register a representative and an email address to respond to notifications related to cases before the Consumer Commission. The term granted for such registration is 30 business days, which expires on June 4, 2024. According to this reform, the consequence of not having a registered representative and means for notifications will be the automatic resolution against the company of all consumer complaints.
