Yesterday, March 10, 2022, the Legislative Assembly approved in the second debate with 38 votes in favor the reform to article 9, subsection D of the “Law to regulate teleworking” (Law 9738).
This reform is intended to guarantee respect for the personal and family privacy of the employee during rest time and to ensure the disconnection from work during vacation periods and leaves of absence. It also emphasizes the duty of employers to respect these disconnection spaces outside the working day or hours of their employees.
In the next few days, the approved reform will be signed by the Executive Branch and subsequently published in the Official Gazette at which time it will become a Law of the Republic.
