María Elena is a Senior Associate with more than 15 years of experience. She specializes in advising on the recruitment, selection and hiring process, preparation of legal opinions, preparation of internal policies, writing of investigation reports, analysis of national and foreign legislation, advice on occupational risk levels for mergers and acquisitions (M&A), management strategies and labor relations, legal audits, prevention of labor crises, advice on risk prevention and labor compliance, design and strategy in regime management and disciplinary process and labor terminations.

She is also a teacher who forms evaluation shortlists for professional technical examinations in the area of labor and labor procedures at the Universidad del Istmo and has been an advisor on various degree theses on labor and occupational health and safety matters at the Rafael Landivar University.

She joined BLP team as Special Counsel in 2023.
