María del Pilar is a Special Counsel in BLP office in Guatemala. Her specialties includes Environnmet, Health & Safety, Energy & Infraestructure and Corporate Law. 

In Corporate Law she demonstrated expertise in providing legal support and counsel to international companies in Central America. Adept at managing complex legal matters, negotiations, and contracts while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. 

In Energy and Infrastructure, she worked at the legal department of the Comisión Nacional de Energía Eléctrica of Guatemala (CNEE) where she worked in a group dedicated to the application of quality policies in the energy subsector and to resolve conflicts between market agents. Later, she became an in-house Counsel in Cementos Progreso in Guatemala where she oversaw energy related transactions ensuring all the company’s interests were met as well as ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and policies.  

She joins the BLP team as a Special Counsel after working for 5 years at Grupo WOL as a General Counsel.
