  • Chevron in Lawsuits against Honduran Tax Authority. BLP represents Chevron in two lawsuits against the Honduran Tax Authority for (1) denying Chevron’s right not to pay 1% over gross income as income tax, and (2) nullifying the right to a credit for overpaid fuel tax.
  • Texhong is a leading textile company that is expanding to Honduras. BLP advised Texhong on starting its enterprise in Honduras, especially with the authorization as a free trade zone operator, and on the necessary exemptions to construct a facility valued at $100,000,000.
  • Dole Lawsuits. BLP manages the daily tax matters of five Dole companies in Honduras, and also, represents Dole in lawsuits against different municipalities that are restricting the company from using land, imposing a 150-meter strip that Dole cannot cultivate.
  • BLP advised Desarrollos Regionales on obtaining the necessary authorizations to operate a free trade zone (FTZ) enterprise for the production of solar energy and to supply electric power to other industrial parks, as well as the necessary registrations to enjoy the tax exemptions and customs benefits granted to members of the FTZ regime.
