Fernando is a Director in the BLP office in Guatemala. His specialties include Dispute Resolution.

In Dispute Resolution, he has advised on the right of defense or enforcing the rights of clients, in writing and orally (in which the oral route is applicable) before judicial and administrative authorities, as counsel or representing clients, through judicial mandates, in Civil, Commercial, Mercantile, labor, Administrative Litigation, Hydrocarbons, Environment, Intellectual Property, Customs, Tax, National and International Arbitration, and Administrative Disputes.

He has also participated in the preparation and authorization of public deeds and private contracts, according to the client’s requirements and the nature of the legal transaction to be granted, such as agreements, settlements, legal rights or obligations, incorporation of legal entities (corporations and civil associations), the constitution of real rights (related to real estate), formation of movable guarantees, as well as monitoring compliance with possible rights and obligations contractually acquired or granted.

Throughout his career of 32 years, he has enforced the rights of clients, acting ethically and in accordance with the laws of Guatemala, knowing and understanding the country’s legal framework, and in many cases, providing the service in compliance with American anti-corruption regulations (The US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act–FCPA) He was a Litigation Associate for 16 years at Arias. Previously, he worked for 14 years as an associate at Carrillo y Asociados.
