Ana Ávila

Ana is a BLP Associate in the Guatemala City offices. With more than 6 years of experience, she specializes in Corporate Law, Public Law, Public Procurement & Regulation, Real Estate & Hospitality, Energy & Infrastructure and Cybersecurity & Data Protection.

In the Business Law, she has advised national, transnational, and international companies in various Merger & Acquisition transactions from the due diligence process to the closing of the transaction. She has also provided continuous advice on the day-to-day affairs of said companies so that they are in full compliance with their legal obligations.  

In the Public Law, Public Procurement & Regulation, she has advised international companies in bidding and public procurement processes, from its initial phase to the implementation phase of the project, for having been successfully awarded with the contract.   

In the Energy & Infrastructure, Energy and Mining, she has advised one of the main importers and distributors of oil in the country and has participated in financing transactions related to the energy sector.  

In the Real Estate & Hospitality, she has been involved in several due diligence processes and has specialized in the analysis of risks in real estate and construction projects. She has also advised multinational and international companies interested in investing in Guatemala, especially in real estate projects and agricultural projects. With her advice, Ana has managed to get both multinational and international companies to concentrate part of their investment in Guatemala.  

Her professional commitment led her to get involved in risk prevention analysis in the implementation of new business models, compliance analysis, data protection and anti-trust law.    

Ana joined the BLP team as a Special Counsel, after working in Arias for more than 5 years; and being an Assistant Professor in Civil Law courses at Universidad Rafael Landívar.
