On February 20, 2025, La Gaceta published Technical Regulation RTCR 511:2023, which establishes guidelines for sanitary products containing hemp and its derivatives.
This regulation sets requirements for importation, manufacturing, and sanitary registration, covering products such as food, dietary supplements, cosmetics, pesticides, medical equipment, and more.
A key aspect of the regulation is the control of maximum THC and CBD limits, which vary by product type. For example:
  • Processed foods with CBD: up to 75 mg/kg.
  • Dietary supplements: up to 0.42 mg of total THC and 70 mg of CBD per daily intake.
  • Cosmetics: a maximum of 0.2% total THC in the final product.
The Ministry of Health will conduct inspections to ensure compliance and product safety in the market.
