BLP is proud to announce the promotion of Alejandro Rojas to Partner. Rojas, who previously served as Special Counsel of our firm in San José, Costa Rica is an accomplished legal professional with over 25 years of experience in criminal law.
Rojas has ample expertise in the field of criminal law, having served as the Deputy Director of Public Defense of Costa Rica for 12 years. He currently specializes in white-collar crime, providing invaluable insight and advice to clients on complex legal matters including compliance and corporate investigations.

As to policy matters, he has worked with various international organizations, including UNICEF, USAID, PANIAMOR, MarViva, and the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights, among others. He has prepared practical manuals, and policy proposals on human rights issues. In addition, Rojas is a well-regarded academic in criminal law and has served as a university professor at institutions such as the University of Costa Rica, the International University of the Americas, the National University of Costa Rica, and the Judicial School of Costa Rica. He has also conducted training programs for Prosecutors, Lawyers, Judges, and experts in different Latin American countries, including Mexico, Panama, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica.
