During the Chambers Latin America Awards ceremony held in Miami, Florida, BLP was recognized for its excellence in customer service and its innovative diversity and inclusion program by winning the Costa Rica Firm of the Year and Diversity and Inclusion awards.
This is the eighth time, and the seventh in a row, that BLP has received the Costa Rica Firm of the Year award from Chambers. It is also the second time that the English publisher has honored the firm’s diversity and inclusion program in Latin America (BLP was Chambers’ honoree as Most Inclusive Firm for LGBT + Lawyers in 2019).
The Diversity Award recognizes the firm’s effort to make the legal profession more diverse and inclusive. BLP has a comprehensive and holistic D&I strategy that nurtures and supports staff throughout their career, combined with a commitment to impact their community positively, including workshops focused on human rights, development, and sustainability to determine specific actions to promote such rights and prevent discrimination on the job; an internal program for the training and inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace; and a series of progressive policies favorable to mothers and fathers that help promote gender parity.
The BLP partner and person in charge of its Sustainability Strategy, Vivian Liberman, comments in this regard: “BLP is a place where we all have the same opportunities, where we seek not only not to be discriminated against for any reason but also to ensure that anyone who works here can defend whoever is seen to be in a situation of discrimination, a site where we strive to raise awareness of the importance of diversity and inclusion and the diligence needed to achieve a more inclusive society.”
This award reflects the effort of our entire team to make BLP a workplace for all people. We are immensely grateful to all the people who are involved in this effort to create successful businesses in sustainable societies.
