Around 50 companies and organizations have committed to the San José Declaration, which establishes ten fundamental principles against discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, and in favor of the promotion of the Human Rights of lesbian people, gay, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, and intersex (LGBTI). The Business Alliance for Development (AED), Pride Connection CR, promotes this initiative and has the support of the LGBTI Presidential Commissioner of Costa Rica.

The San José Declaration urges companies and organizations to promote inclusive workspaces that respect the Human Rights of LGBTI people. These principles cover internal policies, procedures, customer service and attention, training, advertising, and marketing.

We are proud to announce that BLP has signed this Declaration for the seventh time, reaffirming our commitment to sustainable development and the protection of human rights.

Since 2017, we have formed a Commission for the Labor Integration of LGBTI people, which promotes non-discrimination and full labor inclusion. This commission implements actions to ensure that all sectors of our firm are respectful and promoters of the human rights of all people.

BLP’s commitment to inclusion and diversity has received regional recognition. In 2019, we earned the Most Inclusive Firm for LGBT+ Lawyers award, which celebrates our efforts to increase opportunities and representation for attorneys within the LGBT+ community.

At BLP, we work tirelessly to create an inclusive and equitable work environment, promoting diversity and equality in all aspects of our professional practice.
