BLP acted as local counsel to FMO, DEG and Proparco, as lenders, in connection with a term loan facility of US$300 million granted to Banco Industrial, S.A.

The transaction is part of a green financing initiative aimed at supporting projects and businesses focused on sustainable buildings, renewable energy, electric mobility, sustainable construction, and other environmentally responsible activities in Guatemala. This transaction will contribute to expanding access to long-term sustainable financing for companies and projects linked to climate action. 

BLP provided local legal counsel in Guatemala, assisting with the review, adaptation, and implementation of the financing documentation under applicable law, as well as with the coordination with the borrower for the fulfillment of conditions precedent and other local matters required for the successful closing of the transaction.
