Recognized for Legal Excellence and Transformative Project Structuring in the Region

BLP has received two prestigious awards from the 2025 LatinFinance Project & Infrastructure Finance Awards:

  • Infrastructure Law Firm of the Year – Central America
  • Infrastructure Financing of the Year – Central America, for the San Cristóbal Green Academics and Sports Campus in Guatemala.

These recognitions highlight BLP’s leadership in delivering high-impact, sustainable, and innovative legal solutions for infrastructure development across the region.

BLP served as lead legal counsel to IDB Invest and CABEI, guiding the full legal structuring of this first-of-its-kind transaction in Central America, which earned Fast-Infra label verification—a globally recognized sustainability standard.

A Pioneering Project in Sustainability, Inclusion, and Development

The campus represents a US$60 million investment and will offer over 29,000 m² of facilities for preschool to university students, along with Olympic-level sports infrastructure. It also incorporates measures to support gender inclusion in STEM, indigenous students, scholarship programs, and a strong corporate governance framework.

“This project showcases our ability to lead complex legal transactions with high social impact. Our involvement highlights BLP’s deep expertise in structuring ESG-focused financings and delivering legal solutions that enable transformative projects,” said Pablo Umaña, Partner at BLP.
