For the eleventh consecutive year, BLP has received the Carbon Neutral Certification under Costa Rica’s Carbon Neutral Country Program, recognizing the firm’s continued commitment to reducing its environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices.
This achievement represents more than a decade of work focused on integrating environmental responsibility into BLP’s operations. Since beginning its sustainability journey, the firm has implemented initiatives focused on responsible resource management, environmental awareness, waste reduction and the adoption of sustainable practices across its offices.
Over the years, BLP’s environmental program has expanded to include initiatives that promote sustainable practices among its professionals, clients, suppliers and communities. Through training, awareness initiatives, recycling programs, composting efforts and other actions, the firm continues to encourage practices that contribute to a more sustainable future.
From the office to the home
Green Habitat Project
Led by the firm’s Environmental Committee, the Green Habitat Project encourages professionals to adopt sustainable practices at home, including composting, biodiversity promotion and the creation of edible gardens. The initiative received the ESG Initiative Award from Latin Lawyer, recognizing its contribution to promoting sustainable habits and fostering biodiversity beyond the workplace, and reflects BLP’s commitment to extending its environmental efforts into the communities where it operates.
In addition, BLP continues to support environmental initiatives in Costa Rica through recycling programs, volunteer activities such as beach and river cleanups and reforestation efforts, as well as pro bono legal support for organizations dedicated to environmental preservation.
