IFX Networks Expands in Costa Rica with Acquisition of REICO
IFX Networks, operating through the brand IFX-Codisa, completed the acquisition of Redes Integradas Corporativas Ltda. (REICO), a Costa Rican company engaged in information and communications technology solutions and integration. The transaction is expected to expand fiber optic network coverage, a key technology for 5G connectivity.
REICO offers a wide range of services, including dedicated internet access, IP transit, high-speed residential internet solutions, data transport, consulting and licensing supply, technological equipment, cloud computing solutions, intelligent automation, and real estate assets associated with telecommunications infrastructure.
This transaction marks IFX’s fifth acquisition in Costa Rica since the purchase of Codisa in 2024 and is part of its expansion strategy in Central America. IFX Networks has more than 25 years of experience and operates in 18 Latin American markets, consolidating its position as a leading provider of technology and connectivity solutions in the region.
BLP advised IFX Networks on all legal aspects of the transaction, including legal due diligence of REICO, drafting and negotiating the share purchase agreement and related documents, verifying compliance with closing conditions—including antitrust filing and authorization—and assisting with the closing of the transaction.
The BLP team was led by Partners Adriana Castro and Elia Naranjo, and Associate Diego Quirós. Special Counsel Sofía Zúñiga and Partner Uri Weinstok provided key regulatory and antitrust advice.
