BLP advised Bancolombia, in its role as structuring bank, and Banco Agrícola, as both structuring bank and lender, on a project finance transaction of approximately US$46 million granted to Renovatio Solar, S.A. de C.V., an AES subsidiary, for the development and construction of a solar power plant with a capacity of up to 55 nominal megawatts and 72.80 megawatts in direct current.

The firm supported the structuring banks and the lender across all legal aspects of the project, including legal due diligence, the preparation and negotiation of the credit agreement, and the collateral documentation, ensuring a robust structure aligned with market best practices.

This financing contributes to strengthening the region’s renewable energy matrix, supporting the transition to clean energy sources and promoting long-term sustainability and energy security.

The BLP team that advised on this transaction was led by Partner Zygmunt Brett, with the support of Partner Mariana Nóchez, Directors José Góchez and Claudia Meléndez, and Associates Andrea Melara, Julio Meléndez, and Linda Cuéllar.
