Valeria Gutiérrez is an associate of BLP in San José, Costa Rica, specializing in Real Estate & Hospitality, Business Law, and Anti-Money Laundering Compliance. In Real Estate & Hospitality, she has experience advising foreign investors on acquiring real estate in Costa Rica, and structuring real estate deals, development projects, and transactions in urban and coastal areas.

In Business Law, she has advised on mergers, acquisitions, contracts, and corporate restructurings, as well as the day-to-day legal needs of company clients.

In Anti-Money Laundering Compliance, she conducts domestic and international investigations to confirm the profile and source of funds of potential clients for the developers. Valeria joined BLP in 2019 as a Paralegal and became an Associate in 2025.

Gencom Group closes multiple financings in the hospitality sector. BLP advised Gencom on the following financings: (a) $191 million provided by Blackstone in connection with the development of the Four Seasons Hotel and the Andaz Resort and 25 residences, both in Costa Rica, a transaction representing Blackstone’s first investment in Costa Rica; and (b) $131 million provided by Monroe Capital Management, Banco BCT, and other lenders in connection with the development of a hotel and 36 residences under the Ritz-Carlton Reserve banner in Costa Rica. BLP continues to advise the group on the sales and resales of the developed residences.
