Giancarlo Andreoli is the Director of BLP in San José, Costa Rica, specializing in Real Estate & Hospitality, Business Law, and Cannabis, the latter of which he is the Firm’s leading practitioner. He also has extensive experience advising local and global companies on regulations and transactions and actively participates in international events. In Real Estate & Hospitality, Giancarlo has led development projects, structuring, financing, and transactions in urban and coastal areas. He has extensive experience and knowledge of the Peninsula Papagayo development. In Business Law, he has advised on mergers, acquisitions, contracts, and corporate restructures. He joined BLP in 2010.

  • IDB Invest in a US$23 million loan to Grupo Desarrollador de Parques Industriales S.A in Costa Rica. BLP has advised IDB Invest on its combined long-term and medium-term loan of up to $23 million to Grupo Desarrollador de Parques Industriales S.A. to develop the Green Park Industrial Park in the Coyol area on the outskirts of Alajuela.
  • Establishment Labs Enters Into $225 Million Credit Facility with Oaktree. BLP advised its client, Oaktree Capital Management, on all aspects of the transaction, including its closing. Oaktree is a leader among global investment managers specializing in alternative investments.
  • Financing for the construction of Nekajui, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. BLP has advised as counsel for GENCOM and principal counsel for local banks on a $130 million financing package granted to GENCOM to fund its property’s ongoing construction. BLP acted as Lead Local Counsel for GENCOM and Lead Local Counsel for BCT.
  • BLP assisted the client in the financing, development and sales of 25 Hyatt Andaz Branded Residences. BLP acted as local counsel in negotiating agreements with Hyatt to operate the residences under the brand.
  • BLP advised Gencom Group in the partial financing of the construction cost of the “The Enclaves, at Nacascolo Bay”. TowerBank approved and granted a direct credit loan to be disbursed in tranches to Gencom Group up to the sum of $15 million, partial financing of the construction cost of the “The Enclaves, at Nacascolo Bay” project, located in the Papagayo Peninsula, Guanacaste.
